Who We Are
Throughout our eight decades of professional practice, Brandow & Johnston has engineered many of the structures in Southern California and beyond. Founded in Los Angeles in 1945, the firm engineered the first height-limited buildings constructed post-WWII.
Since then, we have completed over 35,000 projects, including the first over-height building allowed by ordinance, the first all-welded structural steel office building, and the City’s first next generation high-rise, The Wilshire Grand Center.
Our History
Brandow & Johnston began its practice in September 1945 as a partnership between two USC classmates: George E. Brandow and Roy G. Johnston. Our multi-generational firm is poised for many more decades of leading-edge engineering, business growth, and service to Southern California communities and clients.
