The full renovation of this museum and visitors center included relocation of existing services and the addition of offices, a sports performance center, and dedicated television studio. The Hall of Champions’ 2nd-floor balcony was reshaped from square to circular. New wall openings, in-fill of existing openings and removing and replacement of structural walls occurred throughout the building. Portions of the basement’s slab on grade were removed and reconfigured to allow for accessibility ramps. An exterior open air enclosure with concrete retaining walls was added to allow for a housekeeping service lift. Plaza improvements include planters, a water feature, and skylights to the basement level below.
